Privacy Policy
Besotted AI is for adults age 18 and older. This page explains the information used to provide the service. It may change as the product develops.
What we handle
When you create an account, we handle your email address, display name, and sign-in information. We store your conversations and messages so you can return to them. We also keep account-specific character progress, media unlocks, and related interaction records. A local browser acknowledgement remembers that you confirmed you are 18 or older; we do not ask for your birth date for that step.
How we use it
We use this information to sign you in, save conversations, generate character replies, manage unlocks, provide media, protect and troubleshoot the service, and respond to support requests. When you chat, the message and relevant conversation context may be sent to our configured AI model provider to produce a reply. Please avoid sharing information you would not want processed for that purpose.
Providers and analytics
We use outside providers for authentication and database services, hosting and media delivery, and AI replies. These can include Supabase, Cloudflare, and the configured model provider. When configured, PostHog receives explicit feature-use events, such as account, character, chat, feed, or gallery actions. For signed-in users, these are linked to the Supabase user ID. These events exclude message text, generated replies, email, passwords, and access tokens. Session replay, broad form/input capture, and automatic pageview capture are disabled.
Media and local storage
Character images and other shared media are part of the service and are separate from your account records. Your browser stores the 18+ acknowledgement and the information needed to keep you signed in. If you choose a chat background, this browser also stores its unlocked image reference for that account and character until you reset it or clear local storage. Clearing local browser storage may require you to confirm your age again or sign in again.
Retention and deletion
We keep account and conversation data while needed to provide the service and handle support or safety needs. Signed-in users can use Delete account on the Account page to remove their Supabase Auth account and related user-owned application records, including conversations, messages, and unlocks. The service checks that account records were removed and reports if it cannot verify cleanup. You can also contact Support about deletion. Shared character media remains part of the service. Limited records may remain in provider backups or logs for their normal retention periods or where required by law; we do not promise an exact deletion time for those systems.
Security and questions
We use security measures to protect the service, but no online service can guarantee perfect security. For privacy questions or data requests, contact us through Support.
